Test an Android APK online

Run a build of your own app on a hosted Android emulator and use it from your browser. You need an installable APK that runs on the emulator; see Which file to upload if you are not sure which one your build produces. Ramus supports Android only, not iOS.

Upload and test

  1. Open the upload dashboard and sign in. You need an account to upload your own APK in the browser.
  2. Drop your APK onto the dashboard or choose Upload app. A progress card shows the upload (with Cancel), then the device starting: Finding a device, Booting Android, Connecting video.
  3. Click and drag to tap and swipe, type with your keyboard, and walk through your app's flow. Use screenshots and device logs to record what happened.

If the upload is rejected, the reason appears on the upload card. If the app does not install or start, read the error shown and confirm the APK runs on an x86_64 Android emulator. Test hardware-specific behavior on real devices that have that hardware.

To explore first, try the live sample on Test an APK. The sample runs a demo app and needs no account. It does not accept your own APK.

Share or finish

Use Share to send the running build to a reviewer. They open it in their browser without signing in; Share a running app covers what they can do and how long a link lasts.

Leaving the page disconnects your viewer, but the session can stay available until it ends or times out. Restart device creates a fresh device and discards the old state. End device releases the device but does not revoke its share links. See Preview sessions for the lifecycle.

From a terminal

The CLI uploads and opens a build in one command, which also suits a coding agent:

npm i -g ramus-cli
ramus login
ramus session start --apk app-debug.apk --wait

Replace app-debug.apk with the path to your APK and open the returned watchUrl. When you finish, end the device with ramus session end.

Without an account, run npx ramus-cli trial first and use npx ramus-cli in place of ramus. The trial lasts 15 minutes, allows one active session, and accepts APKs up to 150 MB, subject to capacity. For 30 free minutes a month, sign in instead; see Plans and minutes.
