Your agent reaches Android over one MCP URL.
Most Android MCP servers run on your computer and drive a device through adb, so you install the Android SDK and start an emulator first. Ramus is a remote MCP server: your agent adds one URL, you sign in, and it gets an Android emulator in the cloud.

Add the server, then sign in with your Ramus account when the client asks. There is no key to paste.

What your agent can do.
Start a device
android_start_sessionstarts an emulator from an APK, an app Ramus already has or a pull request.android_install_appinstalls a new build on a running device.android_upload_apkgives an agent with a shell a one-time upload for a local file.Read the screen
android_snapshotreturns the screen as elements, each with aref.android_screenshotreturns the picture when the elements are not enough.Act and check
android_taptakes visible text or aref, and can name the text it expects. Each action returns the screen it led to, so the agent decides the next step from it. A ref from an older screen is refused.Hand it over
Every device comes with a watch link.
android_share_sessionmakes more, including one that gives each person their own device.android_list_feedbackandandroid_get_feedbackread the notes people send back.
Android MCP servers compared.
| Where the device runs | What you install | Sign-in | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ramus | Where the device runs:Ramus's cloud: Android 17 emulators | What you install:Nothing. The server is remote. | Sign-in:Ramus account, or an API key |
| mobile-mcp | Where the device runs:Your computer: emulators, simulators and phones you connect1 | What you install:Node.js 20 or later, adb and the Android SDK, and a running emulator or device1 | Sign-in:None over stdio; an optional bearer token over HTTP1 |
| Android-MCP | Where the device runs:A device or emulator that adb on your computer reaches2 | What you install:Python 3.13, uv and adb2 | Sign-in:None; it runs over stdio2 |
| Maestro MCP | Where the device runs:Your computer; cloud tools submit test runs to Maestro Cloud3 | What you install:The Maestro CLI, which needs Java 17 or later4 | Sign-in:None locally; Maestro sign-in for cloud tools3 |
| Limrun | Where the device runs:Limrun's cloud: Android 14 and 15 emulators, iOS simulators5 | What you install:Nothing for the remote server6 | Sign-in:Limrun account, or an API key6 |
| Mobile Next Cloud | Where the device runs:Mobile Next's cloud: real Android and iOS devices7 | What you install:Nothing for the remote server8 | Sign-in:Mobile Next account8 |
| BrowserStack MCP | Where the device runs:BrowserStack's real-device cloud9 | What you install:Nothing for the hosted server; the local server uploads apps from your machine10 | Sign-in:BrowserStack account; App Live tools need an App Live license10 |
A local server is the right choice when you already run an emulator or keep a phone plugged in, and want nothing to leave your machine. A remote one suits agents without the Android SDK: cloud agents, ChatGPT, and machines where you would rather not run an emulator.
Questions.
Do I need adb or Android Studio?
No. The device runs in the cloud and your agent reaches it over MCP. Only the CLI's adb tunnel and hot-reload loop use Android tools on your computer.
Can the agent upload an APK from my machine over MCP?
Yes, if the agent has a shell. android_upload_apk returns a one-time curl command that uploads the file, and android_start_session or android_install_app then uses it. In ChatGPT, attach the APK to a message.
Which clients work?
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT sign in over MCP. Any other client that supports Streamable HTTP can connect, with sign-in or an API key.
Does it support iOS?
No. Ramus runs Android emulators only.
What does it cost?
Free includes 30 minutes a month. Pro is $10 a month for unlimited minutes and two devices at once. Sessions your agent starts count toward your plan.
